Another Valentine Blog By Another Person Jumping On The Band Wagon.
Valentines day is creeping ever closer and yeah Tarin knows it still looks far away from here but it’s only about 20 days away or so, that’s not long, so tarin wishes to talk about a few things.
Let’s start with the valentines swindlers. Yes boys and girls there are those out there that will be claiming to love you or will get you to fall for them while they screw you and screw you over, be careful of these people, your heart will be broken, your wallet or purse may be emptied and there will be little, if anything, you can do about it in most cases. Some people are saying be wary of people who suddenly confess their love, especially around now, but also be aware the confessor may not be a conning jerk or jerkette. Is there a way to tell? Who knows. For some people you can see right through them, for others you can’t, though if they start asking for big gifts costing big money, or lots of small gifts and more as time goes on, then yeah tarin would advise you to run for the hills. Also try to be careful of text and internet scammers and definitely watch out for the ones in the virtual worlds like Second Life…although there are some good peeps there too.
Number 2 . this one is for the boys, whatever you do, unless your girls ask for it, don’t buy them lingerie! Tarin means it, he means it so much he will say it again, louder and in italics and bold, WHATEVER YOU DO, UNLESS YOUR GIRL ASKS FOR IT, DON’T BUY THEM LINGERIE…THAT ALSO MEANS DON’T ASK THEM IF THEY WANT LINGERIE TOO!!! Yeah tarin added a bit and underlined it too, whatever, it’s there. Think about it people who is the lingerie for? It’s actually more for …wait why was tarin going to tell you, you already know…or you should!. The point is if you buy her lingerie you’re not exactly buying it with heartfelt thought are you, it's more like hard….something else thought…maybe, and she’s gonna know it and there is a good chance you wont be getting to see her in that sexy get up any time soon…in fact, girls, if you have you a man that buys you that crap….make them wear it!
In at number 3. Try not to be taken in by the commercialism of it all. This is not tarin trying to be a party pooper, not at all, but the big places like supermarkets and the biiiiiggggg money, card shops are gonna try and milk valentines for all its worth, especially after the whole Covid thing, so they know you are gonna try and make valentines more special than it’s ever been this year, and some of them don’t give a crap about your own finances. Don’t fall for their crap. Keep it simple stupid, use small businesses, many of them need your business more than the big name places, most of them were hit worse by the pandemic and some people just walk past these places. Some of these shops have really beautiful things like trinket boxes, candles, beautiful journal books and tonnes of other stuff including things you can get creative with and personalize yourself making that little something special even more special.
Number 4. Thinking about Simply Red here, you know the whole “Moneys Too Tight To Mention” thing . Yup Tarin knows it . So don’t beat yourself up if you can’t spend a lot of cash on your other half or each other, crafting a little pendant thing out of some airdry clay and putting it on a ribbon or lace or old chain, is just as cute, and even more heartfelt than any expensive bauble from a jewellers, or, do you remember those bracelets we used to make out of colourful laces back in the 80’s ? Ok yeah tarin showing his age here. Point is, stuff like this is awesome and best of all it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to come from your heart, .and if you’ve no money at all you can’t beat a snuggle and smooch. And if your partner don’t love it and don’t love that you tried at least…well that’s not a great sign.
Number 5. tarin knows there are lots who have no valentine, no partner to share valentines day with, he feels ya, for some it’s through choice, for others not so much. So know this, on the day itself tarin is going to close his eyes, picture the biggest hug he can imagine and wrap it around all the hearts that need that hug, that will be his valentine gift for you.
So in conclusion , be careful, be thoughtful, be sensible, be loving, be kind, be appreciative, be safe and know that you are all in the heart and thoughts of someone, maybe lots of someone’s, somewhere out in that big wide world and one of those someone’s is tarin.
