Casualties of War, part 2.

They say the war is ended,

Yet the soldiers they still fight.

Another person has been shot dead in Iraq,

They announced on the news last night.

Little beautiful brown eyes,

Rocks back and forth, as she cries.

Remembering that awful day,

The one when her parents died.

The world’s soldiers rushed in,

With bombs, guns and tanks making an almighty din.

Her parents where in the middle of the road,

They told her to run and hide.

When the armies were gone,

She found her parents dead,

With their blank lifeless eyes,

Once filled with their love of their family,

Opened wide to the sky.

Casualties of war Misters Bush and Blair?

I wonder if you’d brush it off so easily if you saw members of your family,

Lying there dead in the dirt.

Casualties of war General Sir?

Rally the troops, get on with your war mongering,

Why should you care?

There’s a seven year old boy,

Lying face down in the sand.

A stray bullet caught him in the head,

Your soldiers have a child’s blood on their hands.

It doesn’t matter if it was one army or the other,

What matters is you are all responsible for killing,

A child’s father or mother.

It doesn’t matter who pulled the trigger on the gun,

Or whose army or air force fired the shell or dropped the bomb.

You are all responsible for the killing of a little one.

Any one person could have said,

“Stop there is another way”

But Mr Blair and Mr Bush “casualties of war.”

Is  that all you can say?

Tarin tried to get this poem published several times, but no luck. One person who read it, wrote back to tarin that they would love to publish it, they did love the poem, but there were quite a few things that would stop anyone publishing it including how direct it was and who it was directed to, namely world leaders, even though it was such a deep poem. Also tarin should say while he has you here, he has no evidence upon his person that the things mentioned in his poem actually happened, unfortunately, if governments around the world are good at anything, it’s burying that thing called “evidence” of their wrong doings, the minute it appears, even on the internet, these days.
