Warning,! although not more specific in detail than stating the type, this poem does mention abuse.
Lies (Revisited)
You said you loved me,
You said you cared.
And should I need someone,
You said you would be there.
Instead you used me and abused me,
In ways that tore up my heart and soul,
Destroyed me in all sorts of ways,
Some of which you will never know.
I was Mummies favorite punch bag
And Daddies favorite sex toy,
I wasn't your son,
I wasn't your precious little boy.
When you said you loved me,
When you said you cared.
It was nothing,
But a bunch of lies,
Once you had used me and abused me,
You left me on my own to cry.
Why did you tell so many lies?
Why did you use me and abuse me,
then leave me on my own to cry?
Why did you not love me?
Why did you not care?
Where was you when I needed you there,
To love me as parents should love their son,
Not as their sex toy or punchbag,
But as their precious child,
Their precious little one?
Why did you leave me to follow,
The long, thin, winding road,
Without a home,
Without a hope.
To find a new family,
To find a new home.
Where people would love me,
Where people would care,
And should I need Someone,
They would always be there.
But the question I shall ask,
Until the day I die,
Is mother, father,
Why did you lie?
So you might be wondering why the “(Revisited)” in the title. Well the explanation is very simple, the original version of “Lies” was less detailed about the lies, this was because at the time of writing the original, tarin was, for some unknown reason, shy about being too detailed, tarin was about 16 when he wrote it and it was the first poem he had ever wrote.. When tarin was reading through some of his work years later, when he was in his mid to late 20’s he read “Lies” and he was angry at himself for not saying at least some of what they had done to him, so he decided to make it clearer, and so here it is.
