Noli Me Tangere
When darkness falls,
And the night creatures call,
Noli Me Tangere.
When demons walk,
And werewolves stalk,
Noli Me Tangere.
When spirits rise,
With their piercing cries,
Noli Me Tangere.
When death calls my name,
And takes me to the next plain,
Noli Me Tangere.
Noli Me Tangere was written in late 1999, Tarin had picked up a book of Latin phrases or something and the words Noli Me Tangere leapt out at him, now according to the book the translation was “Let nothing harm me” or “Let nothing touch me” though this has been debated by many better scholars than tarin, but for the sake of this poem, as he understood it, its translation was “Let nothing harm me,” if tarin is wrong then so be it. Noli Me Tangere was published by Josephine Austin in issue 42 of her poetry magazine ‘First Time’ in spring 2003.
